Great news! Tapestry Public Charter School’s charter petition was unanimously approved by the DeKalb County Board of Education in a special called meeting on September 25!
Prior to the vote, the board offered accolades for Tapestry and the strength of our petition:
“This is one of the finest, most focused petitions that we’ve received throughout the era of charter petitions here in . . . DeKalb. We’re looking forward to working with you. We thank you so much for your advocacy and your support, and we welcome the partnership that will result in greater access. Not just for autistic children, but all children. And, a greater awareness district-wide with the challenges and opportunities that exist.”
– Interim Superintendent Michael Thurmond
Now on to the state!
