Tapestry’s unconventional academic model opens the door to exciting, out-of-the-box learning opportunities for our students. In the middle school, the Science & Agriculture House recently partnered with the Trout in the Classroom program to launch the hands-on activity at Tapestry. Through this project, students are introduced to aquaculture and cold-water conservation with a particular focus on stream habitat study, water resources, and the life cycle of trout.
Over the past couple of months, our students have been responsible for monitoring the growth and development of the fish and ensuring the water tank remains viable for them. As a result of their diligence, trout fish have actually been growing at Tapestry! When the fish are fully developed, Tapestry will safely release them to the Chattahoochee River.
