On August 21st, 144 Tapestry students and teachers participated in the day-long Scrollathon art event. Our partners at the High Museum invited the nationally acclaimed artistic brother duo, The Ladd Brothers, to help students create unique individual scrolls that will become a part of a larger piece of art with more than 1,000 scrolls displayed at an art exhibit in Dallas next month and at the High Museum in April 2020.
The Ladd Brothers hosted four workshops during the day in which they captivated Tapestry students and teachers with humor and high energy and taught them about scroll making and the importance of embracing their individuality. Students were able to make and name a scroll to keep and one for the exhibition.
Art teacher, Brenda Figueroa, selects the materials for her scroll.
