Hello, my name is Mary Beth Powell. I will be teaching ELA to 9th and 10th graders here at Tapestry. I am a UGA graduate with a bachelor’s degree in English Education. I completed my final semester at Oxford University.
After 20 years in the business world, I am returning to my first love of language. My goal as a Tapestry teacher is to open the world of language and reading. My hope is to foster a classroom of independent thinkers, readers and writers.
I live in Decatur with my teenage son and daughter. My passions include reading, cooking and UGA football. Go Dawgs!
